Gentle Chair Yoga: Hands To Heart Center
If you have taken a look at the other chair yoga pose breakdowns, this one is a bit different. Here we are taking a quick look at a restorative pose- Hands To Heart Center. This is a gentle chair yoga pose- but it is also very powerful. Even though we are not moving our bodies, there is still a lot going on here. I encourage you to give it a try and try not to rush it. Often we think that we need to work harder or faster to get our desired result, but the opposite is sometimes what is needed.
This restorative or meditative pose can be used at the start or end of a yoga practice. It can be used to calm the mind, get grounded or centered, or to set an intention for your yoga practice- to think about why you are going to take this time to do this. It can also be an excellent way to end a practice and take a moment to feel accomplished and grateful.
Joining the hands at the heart can allow for a moment of calm and silence while you can connect to your breath and feel your heart beating. For that reason, this pose can be done anytime you feel like you need a reset. If you are looking some ideas for relaxing and gentle chair yoga sequences, you may be interested in these videos:
