Chair Yoga Videos: At Home Yoga Practice
There are so many ways to get in some exercise and activity in our day. What I love about chair yoga is that it is accessible for everyone. We may need to modify moves or positions- but that is what yoga is all about. It is honoring where we are today -right at this moment. It is about finding what it is we need. It is a journey- not perfection right now. It is a personal practice and not a competition. It is not just about the movement, it includes breathing and taking some time in your day to do something good for yourself. Now, of course not everything will resonate with everyone- and that is okay. If you prefer to get your activity at home, or you just need to- I encourage you to take a look on YouTube for some chair yoga videos (or seated chair exercises) that may be of interest to you. I always want to point out that it is important to be aware of any movements that may not be right for you.
If you are concerned about what may or may not be right for you, always speak with your healthcare provider before starting this or any exercise program. We can certainly add in some deep breaths throughout the day to help us feel better. Better breathing helps all the systems in the body. This next sequence is about 23 minutes and focuses on poses and movements that help facilitate upright posture and the muscles involved in breathing.
